My English professor once told us to be cautious with titles when composing written work. It often confines our thoughts and limits the flow of creativity. Likewise, I find the concept applicable to our personal lives. I used to plan ahead for everything and pinpoint exactly where I'd like to be in various stages of my life. If Plan A failed, Plan B wouldn't be too far behind. But we dedicate a substantial amount of time in our lives chasing after this ideal career/person/plan that we end up overlooking other possibilities God has for us. Never neglect the deterrence because chances are He is directing you to an even better ending.

When it came to my parents, I used to have a strong sense of entitlement. I felt as if their provision, unconditional love, and hard work were obligations owed to me. After all, those are the duties of parents, right? Well, many parents don't even come close to fulfilling any of the above. Here I was, this teenage brat thinking mommy and daddy were "supposed" to chauffeur me around town, pay for everything, and forgive me after screwing up for the 999th time. I'm not a parent (thankfully not yet), but I do know my parents have worked incredibly hard to pave a future for my brother and I; especially with their limited education and having English as a second language.

As each day, week, or month passes by, my parent's time with me is diminishing; so is their health. It's an inevitable fact of life, I get it- I cannot beat time. But for those who possess the same flawed paradigm that I once had, stop and just think if the petty fights and arguments are worth it. I'd rather utilize the limited time I have to love and create wonderful memories with my parents instead of speaking hateful words I cannot take back. Wouldn't you? I'm certainly not a perfect child, nor is anybody, but all it takes is a little change in the way we speak, think or act.

Vancouver is such a beautiful city to call home (born and raised here) yet a lot of times I take it for granted. Being constantly stuck in the driver's seat commuting between work and school, I hardly ever take a moment to observe the stunning scenary. Lately I've been trying to dedicate a bit of time to simply become a tourist in my own city and explore what it has to offer. One thing Vancouver is known for is the abundance of amazing restaurants. So, last week I went down to Hapa Umi (drool-worthy food photos below) for lunch with my bestie (Hi Jackie, I know you're reading this!), then walked over to take photos by the water. Next week, I'll be spending some quality with my mom and dad for Dine Out Vancouver. What can I say? Food brings people together.

I feel like 2012 will be an overwhelming year. Overwhelming in the sense that it'll be full of many instances where stepping into unfamilarity is needed. I want to experience what it's like to not restrict yourself to comfort. It's scary, but much needed. I'm excited. This is the year to do it.

This has been the best year I've experienced in a long time. It's not because of any performance based achievements or materialistic acquisitions, but because of the growth I've noticed in myself within the last year.

One thing worth sharing is the mind shift I received in regards to dealing with people. To be completely honest, I suck at building and maintaining relationships. Maybe it's the comfort I have in solitude, but I just never felt the need to let people into my zone. And perhaps my lack of intimacy has caused a lot of lost and question marks in relationship building. Reflecting upon the last year, I have come to learn that you must humble yourself and not put your ego first if you really want and value the relationship. I know it sounds cliche, but that's the most common (and easiest way) to create a wedge in a relationship. If you're unwilling to put the other person before yourself, the only relationship building you're doing is with yourself. It takes a strong person to stand behind their argument but an even stronger person step away from the "No, I'M right" attitude and move on. As well, the importance of being in a community is something I grew more fond of. After all, you can't deny the power created in unity.

So, thank you to those who I've met/grew closer to, supported me and brought about change in my life in the last year (you know who you are!). Enjoy the rest of the year, my friends. Happy holidays! xo

Sometimes the hustle and bustle of our daily lives can get so overwhelming that we become immune to the side effects. You get "used to" being drained, stressed or fatigue. When you finally hit that point where the whirlwind of feelings emerge, you fall hard and stress some more about what to do next. That's when you need to just stop, pray and rely on God for his solution.

I love what I'm learning, but damnit the school work has been so overwhelming. This has probably been one of my worst semesters yet. Especially during this time of year, the ugliness outside just makes me want to lay in bed and be lazy. Instead, the endless amount of papers, mid-terms and assignments just keeps being thrown at me like I'm some target (well, bascially all students are). I've paid thousands of dollars for this and as hard as it is now, I will NOT half-ass my way to the finish line. The only thing I can do at this point is suck it up for another 2 weeks and give it my all. And if I still end up with terrible marks, then...whatever life goes on. I can't stop, and I won't stop.

On a different note, these new boots are beyond awesome. Being 5 ft tall, a lot of tall boots usually hit me at a really uncomfortable spot (middle of the knee- so annoying when you walk), but these are so freakin' perfect. Got to love it when you find something that fits like a glove.

Can you believe there's only one more month until Christmas? And before you know it, it'll be a new year. I would have to say everything that has happened to me thus far has truly been a blessing. Sure I may have went through some pain (physically and emotionally), but I have no resentment. I perceive them as valuable life lessons; lessons which otherwise would not be taught through textbooks or class lectures. Resentment only takes us a step back. After all, who would want to go back to their old self? I sure as hell would not want to be the same as I was yesterday. I don't have to be the best me, just the better me.

Just like anybody else, there's no doubt that I've, too, endured countless trials and errors. But time and time again I've risen from it to a state better than I had ever imagined. Neither is it by coincedence, chance or luck that this occurs. I thank God for the outpour of blessings; giving me hope when I lose sight, when negative emotions in the mind manifest, and when I'm too fatigue to fight the battles. My first day of school starts tomorrow. I'm so excited! Shocker, I know. Celebrated the last day of freedom by going to the Fair at the PNE. Forget the rides, I went there just so I could indulge is some fatty foods. What kind of fatty foods? Deep fried Oreos & Hot Dog on bread topped with Mac & Cheese + crispy bacon bits. Oh yeah, what an awesome way to end off the summer.

Deep fried Oreos. Speechless.

This was probably a gazillion calories. But oh my, what an experience.

And I leave you with this picture. The Hot Dog was so big I couldn't fit it in my mouth. Yes, I know (insert dirty jokes here_____). But that's the truth.

) I enjoy staying home and I never get bored. I keep myself busy by baking, cleaning, washing my car, surfing the net, reading, decorating the home, etc. I could go on forever, but you get the point.
) People assume I'm this die-hard fashion lover...but nope. There are far more important things to love.
) When I get things done, I get things DONE. If there's one thing I learned growing up, it's to never half-ass anything.
) I used to hate cooking, but it's been growing on me. Nothing tastes better than a meal you've worked so hard to whip up. Unless it's Japanese food. I love Japanese food.

Whether it's shopping, running errands, doing projects or going for walks, I've always preferred to do them alone. I'm more than capable of operating in large groups, but the serenity of my own solitude makes me feel more at ease. For the past week, I've been struggling with this topic after it was brought to my attention. I've not been able to organize my thoughts properly to thorougly explain my outlook. A few days ago, Lily from Bleed for Fashion wrote this post (I strongly recommend you to read it). It gave me a peace of mind immediately upon reading. Finally! The severe swelling from my recent jaw surgery has reduced significantly. I can finally go out to places without attracting puzzled looks from strangers. No joke, I looked like Mr.Potato Head's twin, except I also had 2 pieces of 6 inch medical tape on the sides of my face. It was bad. Never had my self-esteem reach that level of low. It's all good, though. No more taking 4 different types of prescription meds, no more random bleeding, and no more locking myself in the house. Life is good.

I had a jaw surgery recently so I've been home ever since. The pain is excruciating and the swelling on my face/neck area is ridiculous. Because of this, I've had to forfeit a new job that I was so excited for. Well, things happen and timing doesn't always work out the way you want it to. What breaks my heart even more is listening to my mom speak to her friends about how bad she feels for me, but praising me for being so independent and strong admist the falling out of everything I had originally planned for. Despite the series of unfortuante events, I have faith that God will have a plan for me.

I didn't buy much on my trip. I had planned on buying a new wallet in Hong Kong, so majority of my shopping budget went to that. Because of the classic, timeless style, I consider it as an investment piece that I'll be using years along the road. Love my new lipstick. The colour pigment is amazing and very long-lasting. Definitely lives up the hype. As for the wedges, I knew I had to get them as soon as I tried them on. They remind me of the Finsk ones that I'd been lusting over on Solestruck. The ones I bought may not have the architectural detail, but I love them nonetheless!

Fish Reflexology. Weirdest thing ever...

I've never travelled out of North America, needless to say the past few weeks have been an interesting experience. I spent 13 days in Hong Kong, 3 days in Singapore, 1 day in Macau and 1 day in Shenzhen. To say I experienced a culture shock would be an understatement. Asia is much, much more fast paced. People are constantly on the go, the train stations are congested with people, and the streets are always crowded. In general, the trip was fun and exciting, but it also made me really miss Vancouver. No matter how much I complain about how boring this city is or how much the rain sucks, Vancouver is a beautiful place and I'm so fortunate to be here.

hello, from Hong Kong

These pictures were taken in Vancouver. I originally intended to make a post just before I left for Hong Kong, but Blogger was down (obviously). But here I am now blogging in Hong Kong. As soon as I got off the plane, my first thoughts were, "dang, the air quality is really poor and the humidity is really hard to stand." You can actually see the dirtiness of the air. Nonetheless, I'm having a great time. I love practicing my bargaining skills at the markets, being a part of the fast paced environment and enjoying the endless selection of delicious food. There's something so satisfying about travelling out of the country to a place you've never been and leaving all your responsibilities behind. Well, that is until I have to board the plane back to Vancouver and suffer from post-travelling depression. So, folks, I'll see you all in three weeks. I know that I'll be coming back with a huge dent in my bank account, but at least I'll have a suitcase full of new goodies and a whole lot of amazing memories in tow.

Thank you to all those who have given me recommendations for Hong Kong! I really appreciate it and I've definitely been putting them to use. :)

(enjoying afternoon tea on my birthday at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Downtown Vancouver)

I've been busy enjoying life. Last week I celebrated my birthday with awesome surprises, delicious food and great friends & family. It was nice and simple; just the way I like it. Because at the end of the day, it's the people who you're with that matters the most, not what you're doing.

I'm leaving to Hong Kong in 2 weeks. I've never been. I don't know what to do there, but I'm really excited for the shopping and the food. I googled "places to shop in hong kong" and was overwhelmed by the amount of shopping malls. In one district there's around 10-15 malls. Crazy, huh?

Mr. Sun must have been reading my post. Today was beautiful. After I had a late lunch with my friend, we headed straight to the park. It was a great idea until I had to walk on the playground in these shoes. Not fun. But, I must admit that these $40 Forever 21 boots have never failed me. Comfy, sturdy, and easy to wear.

I had already tweeted about my new shoes, but here is a better picture. Rachel Roy Kaytee pumps from The Bay- reg $195.99, on sale for $59.99. I love a good deal.

I can be the most silliest person. Ever. I do the weirdest things, say the most random thoughts, and tell the lamest jokes. When I'm telling a joke, I burst out laughing before I can even finish. Sometimes I make the strangest observations leaving my friends speechless. I can sit alone reminiscing about the stupid things I've done and literally laugh out loud. Contrary to what it may seem, I know what's going on. When something bad happens, I immediately start contemplating the next step. When my friends need me, I provide them with whatever advice I can offer. When talking about serious issues, I can carry out sophisticated conversations. This is who I am and what my friends know me for. Sometimes you have to let loose in order to absorb what life has to offer and be serious only when necessary. It's never too late to start changing your mentality and behaviour because tomorrow is a new day.

Often times we forget how fortunate we are to be blessed with such an amazing life. We grasp on to the minor things that bring us down and criticize why it had to have been brought upon us. Instead, recall on past moments that trigger laughter and happiness. Whether it be reminiscing about the innocence of your first relationship, silly drunken moments with your friends, or looking through old photographs of memories you can't relive; remind yourself of how grateful you were to have once been in that state of happiness. Let's be real: life is full of adversities and they will continue to occur during your journey. But everytime that happens, count your blessings.

If you're wondering, no, I'm not depressed. On the contrary, I am at a great stage in my life. I love everything about it and wouldn't have it any other way. I am so thankful for the people in my life, the opportunities I've had, and the continuous blessings. Learning and education are such wonderful things. The more we educate ourselves, the more we know how to make our lives better.

I'm the type of person who analyzes everything before making a decision. That being said, it shouldn't come to a surprise when I say the feeling of uncertainty scares me. Especially when I'm dealing with feelings towards a person. Who I choose to enter my life is a big deal because potentially they may be the person that will either inspire me, motivate me, or bring me down. No matter what my heart may feel, sometimes my brain tells me otherwise. When letting someone into my life, it's hard to decide whether I should take a risk or step away knowing I'm uncertain about my feelings towards them. I wish I had some sort of computer chip embedded in my body that could screen people, calculate the pros and cons, then make a decision for me...

Just a little reminder for everyone.

I scored my entire outfit for an incredible deal. Belt: $5, Top: $15, Pants: $30. Best of all, I only payed $39 for these Stuart Weitzmans. I found them at a consignment store on South Granville with the Holt Renfrew price sticker still attached. Best. Find. Ever.

The other day I came across a lady in the washroom of the gym taking a poop with the bathroom stall wide open. She knew people were there yet continued to do her business without closing the door. I give her credit for not giving a crap (literally) about what the other gym patrons thought of her. What she did was rude, but it takes a certain something to be able to live so carefree while having the ability to block out all the negative judgements from others. Props, old Asian lady. Props.

Story of my life. This may be the reason as to why I act the way I do. However, I know these misfortunes will not be carried with me for eternity. I've already began some positive changes in my life, giving me hope and direction. I know what makes me happy and what I need to do to achieve them. In light of 2011 and my new found motivation, I hope to reflect upon this post at the end of the year to see how much I've accomplished. If any of you are on the same boat, good luck!

On top of studying and completing 4 midterms within two days, I've had to work every night this week. I'm talking about no sleep, pulling all nighters, and living off caffeine. Typical life of a student, no? Now I'm sitting here enjoying my well deserved reading break. Tomorrow I'm planning to sleep until noon, go thrifting, then lay around until I think of something more productive to do. No matter how much you want to give up during times you dread, put your mind together and pull yourself through. Just remember time doesn't pause. Eventually the most dreadful events will be history. Once you're done and over with them, you can take a few pointers from me and be the biggest lazy ass ever.

Surprisingly, my shopping ban is still going on strong. "Shopping" within my closet has been interesting. Actually, more difficult than anything. My usual morning routine consists of waking up, then standing in front of my closet for fifteen mins figuring out what to wear. It has come to a point where I don't even give a shit about my outfit for school anymore. I'd rather catch up on some extra sleep anyway. It's ironic how I have three closets full of clothes yet I stilll find difficulty coming up with something to wear. Oh well, this shopping ban will be worth it in the end. Dear Hong Kong, I'll be coming to you in three months...with spending & shopping money in hand.

I've been wearing this coat non-stop (hence my last blog post). It's too big, but all the smaller sizes were sold out. I bought it anyway because I was tired of waiting for a vintage one to show up in stores. In May, I'll be travelling to Hong Kong for the first time ever. I'm excited, but definately not looking forward to the supposedly hot and humid weather. Because of this costly trip, I'm putting myself on a shopping ban (I actually mean it this time) for at least a month. My friends don't think I'll succeed, but we'll see. On a side note, I got this Michael Kors watch last weekend at Nordstrom Rack for $64.97. Yup, you read correctly.

Deep thoughts

My Sociology exam is in a couple of hours yet I haven't even covered 1/4 of the materials that I need to study. I can't seem to focus. It has become apparent that little devils enjoy intruding my mind late at night. I like to call these devils "thoughts." After meeting up with Lily (my "older sister"), I sort of began to analyze my attitude towards life and somewhat gained a new perspective. Those around me know that I have already mapped out my entire future. Whether it is school, career choice, marriage, or children; everything has it's own slot. But what the hell am I going to do when something along this path fails to go accordingly? Make back-up plans? What if that fails? Strategize some more? I'm still young. I should be content with the current stage of my life instead of fretting over events that are not within my reach. Before I can move forward, I still need to fix and change a lot of personal issues that have been causing discontentment. I don't want to continue wallowing through the days unsatisfied with my past. As cliche as it may sounds, life is really short. Even if all the newest designer handbags were sitting in your closet, they won't bring you satisfaction that will last the rest of your life. I'm not encouraging anyone to stop planning for their future, but it should be done to a certain extent. When I'm old, crippled, enjoying whatever time I have left, I'd like to reflect upon the last decades of my life and leave Earth with a smile, not a frown.

I rarely post photos that include a full face shot because 1.) I'm the least photogenic person ever and 2.) if it wasn't for the sake of documenting my outfits, I would not want to be photograped. Yes, I'm aware that atleast 1 in 10 girls in Vancouver own the same Mackage Jerry leather jacket that I'm wearing. If I had extra money lying around, I'd invest a new jacket hailing from a more discreet brand. But sadly my wallet has been crying since Christmas and the post-holiday sales.

I recently converted from an iPhone to a Blackberry. You're all probably thinking "what the hell girl, your case is so asian." BUT I can't over how cute it is, so I must show everybody! Blinged out Hello Kitty? Yes please.

I'm heading to Seattle in 2 weeks. Any suggestions of restaurants, tourist sights, or shopping destinations that I should check out? I'm clueless, so any feedback will be much appreciated. :)

I should've been up in Whistler celebrating the new year with my friends, but instead family obligations held me back from leaving Vancouver. It's really interesting to see myself mature through age. If it had been a couple of years ago, I would've neglected my conscience by cancelling plans with my family in order to "party" with friends. As cliche as it may sound, all the crap that has happened this year led me to realize how short life is. Only surround yourself with people who keep you smiling. Filter all the negative out of your life. There are more important things to do than stress over things and people that don't matter.

New Year's Resolutions (that I actually plan on trying to accomplish):

1.) Stop cursing and being so vulgar with my words. Using f*ck in ever other sentence is not attractive. I blame this bad habit on the effects from working in retail and encounters with stupid people.

2.) Go outside and be active. Enjoy what nature has to offer before we all die in 2012. Just kidding.

3.) Build deeper relationships with people. I'd rather have a small group of good friends than a 1000 acquaintances on Facebook. Recently I've narrowed down my friends list to 200. So, if I've deleted you on Facebook, now you know why. I don't talk to you anyway, so ~~fuck off~~ kindly refrain from clicking the "Add as a Friend" tab.

4.) Spend less money. This will be the most difficult task. Ever.

The weather is terrible. Being cold and soaked in rain is not a good combination. School has been tough with lot's of projects, assignments, and finals. Worst of all, it's the holiday season and I work in retail. Do you get the point yet? I'm a whiner, I know. Fortunately, I've started my Christmas shopping early and bought myself a little something to brighten up my mood. This Louis Vuitton key holder was one of the items on my wishlist. It was definately a splurge for me, but my mom had a monogram one that last her for well over 10 years. So, I think it's worth the investment.

But, I'm in a little bit of a dilemma. Should I exchange the key holder and pay more to get the Monogram Vernis French Wallet? Give me your advice, please and thank you!

An Ode to Vancouver Fashion

As a self-proclaimed "avid blog reader," I have picked out 5 of my favourite fashion blogs. Of course, they are all local. Those of you who follow me on Twitter may have realized by now that majority of my #FF's consists of only locals.

(These are not in any specific order.)

Vanessa from The Haute Pursuit. She has some wicked style that is extremely rare to see in Vancouver. Not only do I always look forward to her outfit posts, but the beautfiul photographs (taken by Dan) as well. I used to hate going into second hand stores, but my view slowly began to change after following her blog. She is the sole reason why I have fallen in love with thrifting.

Nicole from le mode du jour. I love "shopping" with her via Twitter. If you don't understand what I mean, follow her and you'll see. Her outfit choices are very practical yet super stylish. Oh, and she loves shoes as well. Need I say more?

Lily from Bleed for Fashion. Not only do I choose my blogs based on the author's eye for fashion, but for their personalities as well. I love how Lily says it like it is without sugar coating every statement. I can relate a lot to her. Some people say it's called being "bitchy", I say it's called being real.

Peter from The Starving Stylist. I was born and raised in Vancouver, but I've never seen a man as well dressed as Peter. He can carry a Balenciaga 10x better than the average woman. Aside from his sassy attitude, the content of his blog is brilliantly written. If you saw him on the streets, it's hard not to stop, turn around, and say "Wow."

Vancouver's famous shopping/fashion blog, The Style Spy. I have been a long time reader of the site. Whether you're looking for beauty tips, current sales around the city, or cool new boutiques, The Style Spy has it all. Best part of the site? Every Friday's Guy/Girl of the Week. If it wasn't for The Style Spy, I wouldn't have discovered all the blogs I have just listed above. I give them major credit! That's why I saved the best for last.

My Coolest Most Recent Thrifted Finds

Thrifting is fun when you're broke from tuition, textbooks, gas, insurance, and new bags. Lately I've been very lucky with my finds. There is a nearby Value Village a block away from my house, so I've been dropping by quite a bit to scoop up some amazing pieces.

I am in LOVE with my new coat. $34.99 for a genuine fur coat that fits me perfectly? Yes, please. Some lady tried to take the coat out of my shopping cart while I was trying stuff on. I saw her in the mirror, turned around, and called her out. She just looked at me for a couple of secounds and walked away. Rude.

A new Balenciaga to go with a new school year

If you follow me on Twitter, you would have seen my new Balenciaga. The process of purchasing this bag was definately difficult. Here's the story:

I saw this bag marked down for $1019 (from $1495) at Holt Renfrew and decided to go through with the purchase. How can you pass up the opportunity to snag a Balenciaga on sale?

Unfortunately, my debit had a $1000 limit. Holt Renfrew does not put sale items on hold, so I took a chance to let go of the bag (which was the only one).

I withdrew the money within the course of 2 days, called Holts to make sure the bag was still there, and the sales associate said it was GONE. Perhaps she was unfamilar with the Balenciaga, but I knew something did not sound right.

I called again after a couple hours. A different person picked up the phone, I inquired about the bag, and IT WAS STILL THERE! Obviously I raced downtown to make the purchase.

I am a frugal shopper, but this splurge was definately a good investment.

I am now slowly learning to filter my relationships. If someone is not worth stressing over, it's time to cut them out of your life.

I found this book while cleaning out my room. I bought it from the Scholastic book orders back in grade four. Remember those? It's funny how back then I already knew what I wanted to be when I grew up: "A lawyer, and then be hired to a judge." Now, 9 years later, I'm slowly working towards that goal.

My last post was a month ago

and that is very unfortunate. So, one of my main goals for the summer is to post atleast once a week. These photos would've been excellent, until I was looking through them and realized that I have a hideous tan line on my neck. As a result, I had to crop my head off in most of the pictures. But you can still slightly see the difference in my skin colour in some of the photos.

Lesson of the day: If you're tanning using a tanning bed, MAKE SURE YOU LAY YOUR HEAD BACK. Or else the tan lines will make it seem like you have a permanent scar on your neck.

I've been living in these shorts for the past week. They're SO comfortable and easy to wear.

I love this shot. Charlie always manages to shoot excellent photos of my shoes.

I had my prom last week! And I am officially done with high school. Thank god. I'm sure as hell not going to miss it. As bitter as this may sound, I don't think I'm a "high school" kinda gal. I'm looking forward to university, my career, or the future in general.

My dress was a vintage inspired pale pink chiffon gown with a ruche bodice and light embellishment. Because it was fairly simple, I paired it with a teal statement necklace and a studded clutch.

How AMAZING is my friend Christina's dress? It's from the BCBG Max Azria Runway collection. I could NOT stop looking through the photos we took that night. She definately pulled off this look.

Yes, this is shameless self-promotion, but I was voted as Best Dressed Female. Yay!

Good-bye, Crappy iPhone Photos!

Look-I have finally secured an excellent photographer (Hi Charlie!). So, I guess it's iPhone photos no more...for now that is. I used to have another blog, but I deleted it because I was to lazy to do anything with it. This time around, I really do not want to give up. I'm slowly trying to improve each little thing with this blog, and I will be committed! Vintage blouse, H&M t-shirt, Costa Blanca shorts & necklace, DIY ripped tights, Kelsi Daggar wedges I have never been a photogenic person, nor did it ever matter to me. The most important thing I wanted out of having better photos was the opportunity to showcase the elements of my outfits. In the previous outfit posts, it was difficult to capture the details as my iPhone camera SUCKED.

Yes, I realized my tights are extremely ripped. I went a little overboard with the DIY-ing, hehe. They sometimes get annoying though; picture me trying to pull them on without accidently putting my feet into one of the many holes. Okay, I bet you all had the same experience whether they were ripped tights or destroyed denim.

I love the print on the blouse. You can spot me from a mile away.

Another reason why these tights are annoying because people/teachers always comment saying "your tights are ripped." No, my tights are not ripped, thats why there are holes in them. OBVIOUSLY I realize.

I tweeted about these Kelsi Daggar wedges a while back. I got them from the Dakota Group Sample Sale last month. They're having another one next week, and I am going. Hopefully I won't have to see the stuff I bought get marked down even cheaper. I'd be crushed.

Très CHIC & SIMPLE Alexander Wang Inspired DIY

I saw an Alexander Wang sweater like this somewhere online, but I can't seem to find the picture. This is an EASY EASY DIY, and I'm not exaggerating. These pictures were all quickly snapped on school premises. People passed by me and stared. And do I care? HELL no. Move on, nosy children. Oh, and I desperately need a tan. Haha. Denim vest: Charlotte Russe, Sweater: H&M, Pants: Talula Babaton, Belt: Thrifted, Shoes: Chelsea & Crew I miss my long, long hair. I haven't cut my hair since summer, and it just won't grow out! I think I'm going to have to get extensions. I can't style my bob. It looks the same every single day. These shoes were the biggest rip off ever. I paid $90 to realize they weren't even leather. BUT, I love them, soo... HOW TO DIY: 1.) Get any oversized sweater and vertically fold it in half.

Fabulous Finds & Discoveries

Those who follow me on Twitter probably know that yesterday I had the best day ever. My mom and I went shopping on Main St. & Granville St. We travelled into every boutique and consignment store that we could find. And I must say, it was quite eventful. We parked our car near Cambie St (pictured above). As I was getting out, I stumbled upon someone's wallet. It was drenched in mud, not to mention it reeked. So, I hesitated whether to pick it up. In the end, I did. We took it home, and eventually found a number in the wallet that led us to the original owner. After, we met up with them and gave it back. They were so thankful, and it really made my day. The girl was really lucky because she got it back in time for her trip to Japan the next day. Note to everyone: Always keep your contact number somewhere in your wallet. The same thing could happen to you! These Chinese Laundry boots were only $44 from Front & Co. I always leave that store with goodies. Not only were they in pristine condition, but they're super comfy, too.

This is the best find EVER. Purchased from Turnabout on Granville St, these are brand new Stuart Weitzman's for $38. Yes, $38. They make great shoes, and it's also the 2nd pair that I now own. Oh, and in case you couldn't make up the words on the label in the picture, it says: Holt Renfrew $415. No big deal. I'm just a lucky gal, or perhaps this was the form of good karma I received for returning the lost wallet? I'll lie to myself and say yes, it'll justify my spending.

Aside from Front & Co. and Turnabout, Second Look on Granville St. also has great designer items. Actually, they only carry designer labels. Check it out! It's one of those places where you really need to be patient sorting through the racks, like thrifting. Anyone have other suggestions for other fabulous stores in Vancouver? I'd like to go exploring.

I cannot agree more. For the past couple of months, I have been searching high and low for the perfect vintage bags. Ironically, what I was looking for had been inside my house the whole time. Last week, I was rummaging through my mom's closet for some clothes. Stacked away in the corner was a big Rubbermaid box. I opened it and this was what I found: Heaven. I had no idea my mom owned any of these. Apparently, it had been stored away ever since we'ved moved (by the way, that'd been MANY times). These are my favourites. We ended up discussing the story behind some of the bags: 1.) Nina Ricci side bag w/ bow 2.) Vintage snake skin clutch (back in the day, my mom even had matching stilettos!) 3.) Chanel Clutch (my mom's first designer purchase post-divorce) 4.) Louis Vuitton Limited Edition Epi Leather Bucket Bag Louis Vuitton Monogram Bucket Bag (my mom's first LV bag, it really is VINTAGE) 5.) Chanel Flap bag 6.) Christian Dior Yesterday, my friends and I went for lunch. One of them opened my wallet and saw all the receipts that had accumlated from the past month. I had a mini intervention as she calculated my spending, and the total was $774.27 on clothing, shoes and accessories. Sigh. It is disappointing because I blow my paychecks on things I tell myself I need, and I'm aware of it, too. Anyways, thanks for reading :) Save and Splurge, The Savvy Frugalista
